When you support the family... support the Soldier and Airman.                                                                                     The Texas National Guard Family Support Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 2004 by a group of existing and former Texas National Guard members with the purpose of supporting the needs of those serving our great State of Texas during both peace and wartime.
Programs to Build Strong Famillies We have programs to support military families such as Youth Programs, Morale and Welfare Programs, Limited Fund-raising Groups and Emergency Assistance.

The Foundation receives funding from groups, companies, and individuals who wish to support the Texas Military Forces and their families.
You Can Make A Difference When our soldiers know that their efforts - and their families back at home - are blanketed in the financial and emotional support of thousands of Americans just like you, they are free to focus on the task at hand.

Your support can make a difference in the lives of our soldiers and their families - building a stronger country for every United States citizen.

Limited Fundraising Groups

Currently, Unit Family Readiness Group (FRG) fundraising is limited to an annual cap of $10,000, and an individual cap of $1,000 per donor.  The Texas National Guard Family Support Foundation (TXNGFSF) can offer FRGs an alternative to allow increased fundraising.  FRGs can apply to operate as a Limited Fundraising Group (LFG) under the TXNGFSF 501(c)(3) status by executing an LFG agreement.  The LFG partnership is comprised of the TXNGFSF Campaign Agent, bookkeeper and support staff and an FRG support staff of three (3) representatives.  Once an LFG Agreement is completed and signed by the FRG and approved and signed by the TXNGFSF, the FRG may begin soliciting for donations as an LFG.

The benefits of becoming an LFG are numerous:

  • The TXNGFSF will provide support and experience, including assistance with correspondence and solicitations between the LFG and donors
  • The TXNGFSF maintains all accounting records required by law performs all IRS reporting (to include tax receipts to donors)
  • The FRG may collect unlimited funds, collectively and individually
  • FRG funds are available upon request
  • The TXNGFSF is an established and reputable charity, having awarded over $500,000 in grants and loans to soldiers and airmen and their families over the last five years; consequently, you may find your donations tend to be larger.

Since there are legal requirements that the TXNGFSF must meet, 20% of all donations received on behalf of the LFG will be retained by the TXNGFSF, and be used to provide support to Texas National Guard service members and their families.

The FRG LFG’s responsibilities are:

  • Submit correspondence (i.e., Thank You Notes) and donation solicitations (i.e., flyers) to TXNGFSF for approval
  • Forward all donations in a timely fashion to TXNGFSF, 3706 Crawford Avenue, Austin, TX, 78731
  • Organize all fundraising activities and events and everything that it entails
  • Operate within TXNGFSF LFG rules and guidelines

Please be advised that law prohibits service members from soliciting donations during duty hours or in uniform at any time.
